Five different Hakwood floors for five different designers

Hakwood sponsors the San Francisco Decorator Showcase

Flooring company Hakwood is a proud sponsor of the San Francisco Decorator Showcase, the West Coast’s premier design show house. The Dutch company supports five top interior designers by sponsoring the wood flooring for their rooms. Each room has its own style and story, featuring a Hakwood floor as the base of the interior. Hakwood is pleased to be part of the following rooms:

Heather Deragon from September Studio designed A Room of Her Own. It is intended to be a place to slow down, reflect and find balance. She designed the room with materials that offer warmth and comfort. “I’ve thought a lot about how myself and others can make a positive impact in life. To feel more connected with nature and contribute to the well-being of the earth. All materials have been sourced with intent — supporting either local, sustainable, or female-owned companies. It’s encouraging to work with vendors that put so much time and thought into developing quality products created to last.

In House Wine Grotto | Designed by Lane McNab Interiors | Flooring: Absolute by Hakwood

McNab’s room is the wine room. The design is definitely inspired by nature. She approached it not only as a pass-through to the garden, but as a room that transports your mood through mixing elements, wood, earth, air and even the vine-like pendants. “I love the mix of lights and wallpaper and lighter wood on the walls with the gorgeous dark wood on the floors. The Hakwood floors set the natural tone of the whole space with the grain of the wood subtly showing through the deep, almost-black stain.”

Lady Cave | Designed by DLC-ID | Flooring: Locke by Hakwood

With the design of the TV room, DLC-ID wanted to show the softer, more plush side of the company. The design recreates a grown-up version of a child’s favorite pillowed fortress. Jon de la Cruz: “It has enough richly embroidered linen tented walls, deep tufted velvet sofas and Ottoman luxe for a daily escape. The Hakwood flooring was the perfect complement to our design because of the quiet graining and raw, neutral finish, which was right in line with the soft casual design.”

Ten Thousand Dreams | Designed by Jeff Schlarb Interior Design | Flooring: Dune by Hakwood

Jeff Schlarb Interior Design designed the master bedroom, themed Ten Thousand Dreams. One of the ways he describes his style is “rad elegance”. The aim is to keep design moving along by peppering surprises through material and form. “The continuity between where we have been and where we are going initiates a timeless interior that feels fresh, with an edge and excellence that is seductive. Hakwood’s rich wood material is an example of our use of classic materials, but the darker finish and plank size beside modern textures and design elements is our way of creating intrigue, interest and moving design forward.”

A Day In Her Shoes | Designed by MODtage Design | Flooring: Glaze by Hakwood

Gretchen Murdock from MODtage Design is responsible for the A Day In Her Shoes. “The project pays homage to the way we love to design: combining modern elements with unique vintage pieces to create truly memorable spaces. Many of the interior finishes are tactile, natural and handmade materials, which create a desire to touch and feel and experience the space. Hakwood’s European Oak has a beautiful, clean and modern aesthetic that works well to provide a backdrop to any space. The Glaze finish adds vintage charm to the space but keeps it modern and minimal at the same time.”

Fund raising for education Hakwood is excited to support the Decorator Showcase in raising funds for the San Francisco University High School Financial Aid Program. The annual Decorator Showcase provides significant revenue to UHS’ financial aid budget, that provides annual tuition assistance to over 22% of the School’s diverse student body.
